Five Finalists from Blackville School in 2014 District CUTE Awards

Five finalists from Blackville School have been selected for the Anglophone North School District Creative Use of Technology in Education (CUTE) Awards. The 7th Annual Awards Ceremony will take place at James M. Hill Theatre on Wednesday, March 19.

The five finalists are:

Scholastic Book Fair (March 17-20)

Blackville School will hold a Scholastic Book Fair from March 17 to March 20. 

The Book Fair will be open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Thursday morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Family night will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Students Celebrate 2014 Winter Carnival

Elementary to high school students at Blackville School celebrated Winter Carnival with a variety of activities. During the week of February 24-28, theme days were held along with indoor and outdoor activities and a visit from members of the Timberwolves hockey team.


Middle School Students of the Month

6Mc:
Student of the month for Ms. McEvoy's homeroom class is Abby Keenan. Abby is hard working, shows leadership skills and respect for others. She is especially kind and helpful and has made academic improvement.




6M:
Drake Donovan was chosen as student of the month for Mrs. Moody's class. Drake is hardworking, kind, helpful and thoughtful. He consistently shows respect for others and is very polite.

7J:
Student of the month for Mr. Johnston's class is Laura Colford. Laura is especially kind and helpful. She routinely helps with the fluoride programme and is a team player willing to pitch in to get the job done.




7W:
Tori Lee Sullivan was chosen as student of the month for Mrs. Waugh's class. Tori is a hard working student who is thoughtful, kind and helpful and displays an outstanding effort in her work.




8O:
Student of the month for Mrs. O'Keefe's class is Gina Keenan. Gina is hard working, kind, helpful and thoughtful. She displays academic achievement, leadership skills and shows respect for others.




8S:
Abby Donovan was chosen as student of the month for Ms. Steeve's class. Abby is especially kind, helpful and thoughtful. She has displayed leadership skills and respect for others.

Budget Time

Grade 12 students from Blackville School had the opportunity to get some pointers on budgets and credit advice. Before the March Break, Louis Burke of Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada, spoke to the students about credit, interest and budgets.
