Truth and Reconciliation Day at Blackville School

National Truth and  Reconciliation Day was on September 30. The elementary  students did a colouring activity of arms, and the older students wrote little "be kind" messages for the arms. This activity was to emphasize the motto "Every Child Matters". This design is on display on the second floor bulletin board.

Special Design Challenge for Students

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development announces a special Design Challenge for students across the province.

Students of all ages are invited to create original artwork that will represent the "schools’ vibrant cultural and linguistic diversity."

The image will be featured on products such as mugs, card, and/or stickers that EECD will share with colleagues, educators and partners in education.

The goal of the challenge is to provide students with an opportunity to create an original design with real- world applications.

One logo will be chosen for each of the following grade level categories: K-2,  3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

The chosen artwork will be one that captures the unique, inclusive and vibrant nature of the schools and provincial pride in cultural diversity and inclusivity.

The creator of each of the four chosen designs will receive a professionally framed copy of their work, along with a mug, card or sticker featuring their design.

For more information, see your teacher and you can also see more details by clicking here.
